WALES HAIKU
JOURNAL
SUBMIT
We publish 4 issues a year, with the following submission deadlines:
-
Spring issue published in April (submission window: 1 March - 31 March)
-
Summer issue published July (submission deadline: 1 June - 30 June)
-
Autumn issue published in October (submission deadline: 1 September - 30 September)
-
Winter issue published in January (submission deadline: 1 December- 31 December)
Submitted work should follow these guidelines:
-
Work submitted may be on any theme or subject, but works that embody the nature tradition of haiku are particularly keenly sought.
-
Poems submitted should be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
-
Work must be the original creation of the submitting author and must not be generated or materially assisted by artificial intelligence tools.
-
You’re welcome to submit up to 10 pieces in total - in any combination of haiku, senryu, haiga, haibun, renga, or related forms.
-
Please submit once only for each issue.
-
Poems should all be included in the body of your email, and not attached as a .doc or .pdf file.
-
Submissions of haiga/photo haiku should not contain any word/image credits in the works themselves.
-
We aim to respond to all submissions within a few weeks, but during busier reading periods responses may take 6–8 weeks. All poets will receive a notification if their work has been accepted or not.
-
Suggestions for essays and reviews are also welcome. Please direct any queries to the Editor at the email address below.
Please send your work to: waleshaikujournal@gmail.com
